staff.rip is a small team of developers who got tired of re-explaining the company to a chat window every morning. We're building the thing we wished existed, and shipping it in public.
An AI worth paying for is an employee, not a feature.
Most "AI products" treat the model as a feature bolted onto an app: a sidebar, a textarea, a button labelled Improve with AI. It answers, you copy the answer somewhere else, and tomorrow it has forgotten you.
Look at what makes a new colleague useful and almost none of it is intelligence. It's a job description. Access to the systems the work happens in. A desk. A calendar. Somewhere to write things down. A manager to ask when a call is above their pay grade. Give a model the same five things and it stops being a demo.
So that's what we built: a hiring flow instead of a prompt box, real tools instead of copy-paste, shared docs and per-crewmate memory instead of a context window, schedules instead of nudges, and a decisions inbox so the human is still the one who says yes.
